Pumpkin Ice Cream

f you've found your way to this site it's because you're a fan of delicious pumpkin ice-cream. Its a seasonal flavor that some of us crave. The air gets cool, the leaves change color, and you head down to the grocery store to indulge in some autumn dessert.

I've grown pumpkins and made pie from them myself. I've heard of pumpkin juice, but I've never had it. I might like to try it sometime. Maybe I could come up with an alcoholic drink featuring pumpkin juice. I would need to give it a really cool halloween type name. Any ideas?

Not long ago, I was looking for pumpkin icecream. Icecream is my favorite food and pumpkin is one of my favorite kinds of icecream. It's also the favorite type of my favorite woman in the whole world, Michele.

But alas, though it was late September, there was no pumpkin. I searched the internet for more information. I'm pretty sure that Thrifty makes a pumpkin icecream, and Michele was sure that Dreyers made one too.

The Dreyers site did have a page about their pumpkin flavor, but it was under their other brand name of Edy's and you couldn't find it through the main site. I found it through google's database.

Luckily, there was an email notification sign-up where they would notify me when it arrived in a store close to me. But I could only choose 3 stores if I remember correctly. Anyway, a few weeks later they sent me an email saying that Vons had pumpkin icecream.

Now the problem is that Michele wants the lite icecream and not the full fat. But how many seasonal flavors come it lite? She called Dreyers and they said that they did have that flavor in lite. I'm not too hopeful of finding it.

Here's a link to the Edy's brand pumpkin ice cream. It's not light, but It looks good. I haven't had it yet. I've had the thrifty Ice cream brand which is good. Dreyers also makes an eggnog flavor around December which Michele likes also.
